NASA Sucks

What is the deal with NASA? I was watching the news and they were talking about another problem they found with the one ship we just sent into space. There is some material sticking out of the underside of the nose. On re-entry this might cause the panel to over heat.
Is it just me or did GEO take over on making all of NASA's equiptment?
NASA does a good job in researching new technologies, but so many things that NASA does is a waste of time and money. They send all of these probes and other dumb shit to Mars, why...cuz they just want some cool red rocks up close. All of which was screwed up because people dont know the difference between metric and english measurements.
How there can be that many mistakes now, when in the past there were more succussful flight beats the hell out of me. If NASA is going to be spending all of this money, they might as well spend a little bit more and make sure they do everything right.
Well it is time for bed cuz I gotta work in the morning.

Last Man Standing

Well I made a few changes to my blog. For the 2 (if that many) people that read this, let me know what you think.
Now on with my post.
Well I wrote this really long post, then read it over when I was done. After reading it I really didnt like it. It basically said I feel like all of my close friends now have girlfriends and sorta put our friendship back a couple pages. The post also talked about how I miss the old days.
Now recent happenings:
I went to a "work party" last night. I say "work party" because that is what I was told, and it came to be an okemos party. There was 2 people there from work, both from okemos and then there was all of their friends. Oh and did I mention I was the oldest person there by 2 years. It was kind of weird, but I still managed to have a decent time.
This past weekend was very interesting. First, on Saturday I went Tubing down the Muskigon River up by Harrison with my sister, her friend, and my cousin. It was fun, but SUCKED. The river was too slow, I even moved upstream a couple times. There were down trees all over the place and if they popped the tube we would have had to buy a new tube. Also, we did not have enough booze.
Saturdy night I went to the Whiskey Barrel (formerly Sparty's). It is a country music bar, yea I know what you are thinking, I dont like country either. BUT I had a great time there. I went with my sister and some of her friends (I couldnt get any of my friends to go). While there I got IDed by an undercover county cop, kinda funny cuz i was hanging out with Lansing cops. That place was full of hott girls. There were even 2 hot lezbos dancing and making out, that was so awesome.
Hmm this turned back into a pretty long post, but now I am spent.

how rude?

Well I decided to make a second post today.
Something that has been on my mind a lot lately is people's manners. I have been "researching" this story for a long time. One day when I lived in the dorms I held the door open to the drom building for about 10 people all in a row. I noticed how many of them thanked me or just gave me the head nod (which is basically a thanks) verses the number of people that just take advantage and walk through. Now in my eyes it is kind of rude not to thank someone when they hold a door open. I found that day that about half the people said thanks in some form. Of the half that didnt, they didnt even look at me or acknowledge that I was doing something for them.
After that day I just started to pay attension to people's manners. Something I have noticed over the past 2 years is that when there is a group of people, and one person thanks someone for doing something, there are normally a couple other people that will then follow someone's lead and throw in a thanks as well. Overall to me it seems that still only half of the people I see will thank someone for a deed. Most of my experience has been holding doors open, or other little stuff. I would assume for larger deeds that the percentage would be higher.
Something else I have done while at college is thank everyone that holds a door open for me. To tell you the truth I think it is a good conversation starter. One day while cutting though a building while heading to a class there was a cute girl in front of me. There were 4 doors on the path to the next building. She held the first 2 doors open for me (you know the kind of door hold, the push it further open after you walk through). I said "thanks" at the first then "thank you" at the second. Then the next 2 doors came up. She held those as well, so i said "thanks again" and "and one more time". She then said something to me along the lines of "are you stalking me". Anyway long story short, we start talking and have a great conversation. Next door we come up to I said I got this one for a change, and stepped up and held it open for her to walk though first. We had a really good talk, but being the idiot I am, I never got her name or number.
There is something about a simple thank you that feels so good. In a way having someone thank me for something makes me feel like good and satisfied for what I did. It seems though as people either get bored of thanking, or dont feel the need. Like the other day when I bought dessert (food after dinner if i spelled that the wrong way) for a few friends. None of them said thanks, one did offer to pay me for it though. They are friends so I am not mad, but it seems a bit disappointing.
I guess something about the way society is changing bothers me. Too many people live life as take everything for granted, and take as much as you can. I just dont see why people dont take 1 second out of their day to thank someone else for doing something. Just take that one second to hold the door for someone else, or just to thank someone for holding the door. Personally it makes me feel a little better, maybe it will do the same for you.

Well it has been about another month so I decided to make another post. The Monte Carlo has been running well, and I have been driving a lot. I took a trip to my grandparents for the 4th of july weekend. Last weekend I drove up to Traverse City to visit Rory. Needless to say I have consumed large quantities of alcohol. The weather this summer has been really nice. A bit warmer than i prefer, but I will take it. I have been able to work about 40 hours a week, so I am actually getting some money. I want to try saving it, but that wont really happen...car insurance and credit card bill will get most of my money. But, I might be able to pay off a lot, and not have to worry about car insurance payments for 6 months.
